Students from elementary schools throughout Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative’s service area participated in the cooperative’s 2009 electric safety poster contest.
Students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade submitted their original posters featuring some aspect of electric safety. The first and second place winners at each participating school received $25 and $15, respectively.
Additionally, the winning posters from each participating school were judged and first and second overall school winners were selected, as follows:

First Place: Lidgerwood Elementary School
Second Place: Ellendale Public School
As first place overall winner, Lidgerwood Elementary School, Ellendale, received a $100 donation and Ellendale Public School received $50. The winning school posters were created by David Novotny, Lidgerwood, and Emily Hauck, Ellendale.
