
Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative has a long history of championing education, with its Basin/Dakota Valley scholarship program, school tours of western North Dakota energy facilities, legislative tours, the school safety poster contest and “The Story Behind the Switch” school lyceums.
It also has another educational program in its educational backpack, and that is its “Dollar for Scholars” program.
Each year since the program was created, each of the eight Dollars for Scholars chapters located in the cooperative’s service area receives a $500 scholarship donation.
The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school students to be used for post-secondary education.
Scholarship winners are selected on criteria established by their school’s Dollars for Scholars chapter.
